DonneVino is owned and Operated by MDM Wines
MDM Distribution is a woman owned and operated import and distribution company which is based in
San Francisco, California. Melanie Moffett, President, launched her company in 2002, as Dinki-Di, inc. and focused on Australian Wines.
(Dinki-Di is Australian colloquial speech for "honest dollar", which was the goal of her company: Provide excellent value wines at great values.
Within a year, Dinki-Di out grew it's name, with the addition of wines From New Zealand and
California, In 2003, she created the dba MDM Distribution and has established an excellent reputation for providing great wines at exceptional prices.
From the beginning of MDM Distribution, Melanie has acquired products made by women winemakers;
Little Wines (Australia) made by Suzanne Little; Casa Carneros (Napa Valley) made by Melissa Moravec; Deux Amis Vineyards (Dry Creek) made by Phyllis
Zouzounis.
In 2005 Melanie expanded her business to include national sales and added Italian Selections to
her portfolio. She expanded her representation of women winemakers with the addition of Donnatella Cinelli Colombini wines from the "woman of Brunello"
Donnatella Cinelli.
During her wine career, Melanie researched women in wine throughout history and was amazed at the
contributions made by women winemakers throughout the world. In 2005, she attended an event in Sonoma which honored five women winemakers:
Phyllis Zouzounis, Zelma long, Carol Shelton, Merry Edwards, and Helen Turley. Their stories and contribution to the California wine industry was an
inspiration and a contributing factor to creating this web site and to focus on women and wine.
