A Celebration of Women and Wine
For hundreds of years, women have been actively involved with all aspects of the wine
business; winemaking, winery owner, importer, distributor, and viticulturist. That is also the case in today's modern wine industry.
 This site was the inspiration of Melanie Moffett, President of
MDM Distribution, a wine importer and distributor located in San Francisco. Melanie
launched MDM Distribution in 2002 and grew the business from a wine broker to a California Distributor and in 2005 began a National Sales Program focused on
small boutique brands.
The goal of this web site is to acknowledge the contribution women have made in the wine business
in the past and present.
This site does not generate revenue, it serves as a portal to wineries which are owned by women,
have women winemakers or woman who are viticulturists.
